The limit in building and urban systems is no longer sensing or computation. It is representation: how a building describes itself well enough for a machine to reason about it.
My work is on that problem — building information theory and ontologies, and the AI agents that operate on them. Where it leads is systems that model, diagnose and increasingly run themselves, at the scale of a building and of a city.
